CODE: Floor awarded funding in the 2025-26 Changing Times Tap Dance Intiative(New York)
CODE: Floor is proud to share that Artistic Director Christopher Horsey and the CODE: Floor Tap Dance Company have been awarded funding through the Changing Times Tap Dance Initiative (New York) for 2025–26.
The grant supports the development of an original tap dance web-series, combining performance, rhythm-based creative exploration and emerging digital tap practice. This project provides an opportunity for young tap dancers to collaborate, rehearse, and create new work for screen, contributing to the evolving landscape of tap dance internationally.
This initiative recognises the potential of Australian tap artistry and supports new work development linking youth performance with professional collaboration and creative research.

Jane Goldberg’s Changing Times Tap Initiative
Since 1979, Changing Times Tap Dance Company’s artistic director Jane Goldberg has worked to fulfill the company’s mission: to develop, produce, and present the creation of new tap dancing work, entertain and educate the public about tap dance history, and preserve and maintain one of America’s only indigenous dance forms. Examples of projects eligible for the initiative include tap-related choreography, live performances, festivals, sponsored educational activities (i.e., tap classes), podcasts, research and writing (books, articles on tap), archives, and films.
